Sofie Wicklund

Community Engagement & Trail Assessment Intern (Monadnock Outdoors)

Sofie grew up in eastern Minnesota, on traditional Dakota and Ojibwe lands. She saw the benefits of community engagement firsthand in the tiny river valley town she called home during childhood, and throughout her undergraduate degree at Gustavus Adolphus college in the prairies of southern Minnesota. Sofie fell in love with environmental education while working as a naturalist at an environmental learning center on the north shore of Lake Superior. She went on to work at a public Montessori charter school in St. Paul for two years before moving to New Hampshire in 2022 to pursue an MS in Environmental Education at Antioch University. A newcomer to New England, Sofie has enjoyed getting to meet new ecological communities, climb new mountains and try new seafoods. In addition to her work with CCCD, Sofie serves as a Co-Coordinator at Community Garden Connections in Keene. She finds her greatest joy in building relationships that help nourish communities.
