Request for Qualifications

The Cheshire County Conservation District is requesting qualifications for an ecological consultant with wildlife monitoring and inventory experience to conduct an assessment of road-wetland crossing in Cheshire County during the 2025 field season and to complete and submit a report on findings.  Please include experience, education, and references.

Submission Instructions:

Please submit qualifications package by January 22, 2025 via email to amanda@cheshireconservation.org

Background:

The Cheshire County Conservation District is working with state and local partners on the Cheshire County Turtle Conservation Initiative with funding committed from the New Hampshire State Conservation Committee.  This initiative will commence in 2025 and the effort will continue through 2026; with the potential for extension if funding is secured.

The selected consultant will be asked to conduct an assessment utilizing the methodology outlined in “Design Guidance for Wetland-Road Crossings to Reduce Blanding's Turtle Mortality Risk” as advised by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department’s Nongame and Endangered Wildlife Program. Then using a data-driven prioritization rubric, the consultant will determine key restoration projects to improve aquatic connectivity and minimize turtle road mortality.
