Jaime McGuigan

Jaime McGuigan is an ecologist, conservation and wildlife biologist, and founder of Access Conservation, a nonprofit focused on connecting people with wildlife, conservation, and ecological science. She holds a master’s degree in Environmental Science with a concentration in Conservation Biology from Antioch University New England and a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Keene State College. Her work spans wildlife monitoring, ecological fieldwork, science education, and wildlife cameras, following the small details that reveal how animals move through, interact with, and make a living on the landscape. She is especially fascinated by microhabitats and the outsized role that tiny features of a landscape can play in wildlife ecology. Her work focuses on helping people discover the wildlife value of their own land, whether it’s a sprawling forest, a backyard wetland, or anything in between.

When she’s not tromping around looking for tracks, feathers, frogs, or the perfect place for a wildlife camera, you can find her exploring the northern reaches of Cheshire County on foot or by kayak, or at a local general store or ice cream stand. She firmly believes field conservationists should be part of the local economy, too, even if that means another pastry or ice cream cone in the name of wildlife conservation.
